This may be my favorite flavor of granola I’ve ever made.
I used to get the target brand of chocolate granola and we would go through that little bag in two days. This puppy will last us a couple weeks.
Homemade granola is so easy to make, and so much cheaper than buying a bajillion bags each month! Give it a try, you will not be disappointed!

Chocolate Walnut Granola
Servings 35
Ingredients
- 6 cups rolled oats
- 2 cups preferred nuts
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1 cup honey
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare a 10″x 15″ jelly roll pan by lining it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, mix the oats, nuts and brown sugar. Stir to combine.
- In a 3 qt. sauce pan, add the coconut oil, honey and cocoa powder.
- Stir with a rubber scraper to mix it as it warms. Do not let it boil.
- When the wet mixture is well-combined, pour it into the large bowl over the dry ingredients.
- Use the rubber scraper to mix the ingredients together, making sure to scrape the bottom and coat all of the oats and nut.
- Place in the heated oven for 30 minutes. When the 30 minutes is up, leave it in the oven to cool, for 2 hours, or overnight.
Notes
Some of my preferred nuts for granola include walnuts, pecans and almonds in homemade granola.
